Anchor Point Surf: the most famous right-hander in Africa
A world-renowned spot
Anchor Point — or “La Pointe des Ancres” — is arguably the most photographed, most surfed and most respected spot on the entire Moroccan Atlantic coast. Located a few minutes' walk from the village of Taghazout, this anchor point produces long, powerful right-handers that can peel for several hundred metres in optimal conditions.
The north-west swell, frequent in autumn and winter, generates endless walls, ideal for working on lines, cutbacks and high-level manoeuvres. It is on this spot that world surfing legends were forged.
For which level?
Anchor Point Morocco is clearly aimed at surfers who are solid intermediates and experts. The rocky bottom, the power of the waves and the heavy crowds demand solid skills. Killer Point Morocco: the magazine wave
Endless walls for demanding riders
Killer Point surf is often described as a wave straight out of a magazine. Located slightly north ofAnchor Point, this spot produces long right-handers highly exposed to the swell, offering generous, consistent walls. Less crowded thanAnchor Point, Killer Point rewards patient surfers who know how to read the swell.
Optimal conditions are similar: north-west swell, east wind or calm. In big swell, the waves can become particularly powerful and hollow, reserved for high-level riders.
For which level?

Anchor Point vs Killer Point: the key differences
These two spots share the same DNA: powerful rights, rocky bottom and optimal conditions in autumn-winter on a north-west swell. However, they differ on several key points.
Anchor Point Morocco is the undisputed star: its wave is longer, more powerful, and its worldwide reputation draws large numbers of surfers every day. It is the spot to tick off your bucket list, but its heavy crowds demand perfect peak management and proven experience.
Killer Point surf, for its part, offers a slightly more consistent wave and an often less crowded line-up. Its generous walls let you express yourself more freely on the wave, sometimes making it the wiser choice for sessions outside peak periods. Both spots remain reserved for surfers with solid ocean experience, however.
